This is an icon pendant, dedicated to Guardian Angel. Here you can see the mighty Guardian Angel as if standing guard in the temple's window of the Heavenly Church. The angel has a cross in one hand and a sword in the other. With their help, he protects the soul of man from the attack of evil spirits.
The word "angel" means "messenger". Angels are faithful servants of God, announcing His commands. On the head of the angels, there is a ribbon depicted that winds on both sides of the face. These are the "hearings" with which the angel catches all the words of the Lord.
There are only nine angelic ranks. Guardian Angels are of the lowest rank because they are always with people. Each person is given by God his Guardian Angel at the time of baptism.
