The Icon of the Mother of God "The Inexhaustible Chalice" originated from the Vvedensky Vladychny ...Monastery of Serpukhov. The celebration of the icon takes place on May 5 according to the Julian calendar.

The appearance of the image took place in 1878. Once there lived a retired soldier, possessed by the passion of drunkenness, and as a result of this, he had lost the ability to walk. One night in his dream he saw the old schema-monk Varlaam who told him: "Go to the city of Serpukhov, to the monastery of the Lady of the Mother of God. There is an icon of the Mother of God "The Inexhaustible Chalice", serve a prayer service in front of it and you will be healthy in your soul and body. " The peasant did not immediately go to the monastery, but after the third appearance of the elder he set off, crawling on all fours. Arriving at the monastery, the sufferer told about his dreams and asked for a prayer service. But no one in the monastery knew the icon of the Mother of God with such a name. After a long search, an image was found in the passage from the cathedral church to the sacristy, on the back of which they found the inscription: "Inexhaustible Chalice." After the prayer service, the former drunkard received not only healing of his sore legs but also lost his addiction to alcohol. There are many stories about the miraculous power of this icon. On the back of the pendant you can see the Calvary cross and prayer: "Stretching out Your hands and bringing Your intercession to the whole universe, give me Your cover, O Most-Pure One, for what I must accomplish."
