Symbolism and application of the item

This is a small round icon with the relief image ( till the waist) of the ...holy martyr Queen Alexandra. You can see her in queen's clothes with the crown on her head and with the cross in her right hand. The palm of the left hand is open in front of the chest in a confessional gesture. The Holy Martyr Alexandra was the wife of the Roman emperor Diocletian, who fiercely hated Christianity and instigated cruel persecution against Christians. Queen Alexandra was a Christian, but she kept her faith a secret. Seeing in Nicodemia the firmness of the confession of St. Great Martyr George, Alexandra decided to openly testify to her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She immediately went to the place of the torture of St. George. Falling at the feet of the great martyr, St. Alexandra publicly confessed her faith in the true God. The embittered Diocletian condemned the holy queen - his wife - to death along with the great martyr George. Saint Alexandra went to execution with prayer on her lips. On the way, stopping from fatigue, she asked the soldiers to let her rest, and leaning against the wall of the house that stood by the road, she gave her soul to God.  Saint Memorial Day - April 23 (May 6). On the backside of the icon, you can see letters iс7 хс7 ( Jesus Christ), НІКА ( The Winner) МЛРБ ( The place like Paradise). Around the cross, there are words of prayer to Saint Alexandra. May she intercede for all who are persecuted for their faith, for all who are married to rulers, and may holy Alexandra pray for us?
