Symbolism and application of the item It is a small cross with the Crucifix on the front side and the angel ...with the child - John the Baptist - on the backside. Jesus Christ is shown on this cross because He turned His sufferings into the symbol of victory over sin and death. "НИКА" is scripted beside the cross, which means "I overcame". After His resurrection, the Lord turned to His disciples with these words: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). The Lord was crucified on the hill of Golgotha which was outside of town. The wall symbolizes Heavenly Jerusalem.
