Symbolism and application of the item
...On the front side of this cross pendant, according to the adopted canon, Jesus Christ is depicted. According to the Byzantine tradition, such an icon of His is called "Pantocrator", which in the Russian translation sounds like "Almighty." The Lord blesses with His right hand and holds the Book in his left. This is a symbol of the Book of Life, which contains the names of the saved for eternal life.
On the backside of the cross, you can see Guardian Angel. This angel appears by your side during your baptism and goes together with you all your life through, saving, and protecting you.
The cross is rimmed with the words of the Lord's prayer: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom comes, you will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." (Mt 6-9,13) Below, on the front and back sides, the stories of Orthodox patrons of the family and marriage of Saints Peter and Fevronia, Adrian, and Natalia are told. These are stories of pure and selfless love. In the old days in Russia, there was a custom, before the end of earthly life to go to a monastery to prepare your soul for eternal life. So Peter and Fevronia, having reached old age, accepted monasticism. They died on the same day and hour. But they were buried in different coffins, despite their will to bury in one. However, their bodies were in the same coffin. People understood that this was God's blessing.
