This round relief scapular with a movable hoop at the top is a waist-length image of St. Olga, Princess Regent of Kiev, Equal of the Apostles. She is depicted in the robes of a medieval Russian princess, with a cross in the right hand and a miniature church in the left. The Great Princess Regent began the mission of educating and baptizing Russia later continued by her grandson, Great Prince Vladimir. She went with a large fleet to Constantinople and was baptized there under the name of St. Helena, and, having returned to Kiev, founded the church of St. Nicholas upon the grave of Askold, the first Christian Prince of Kiev, after which many people in Kiev and Pskov converted to Christianity. On the reverse there is a blossoming four-pointed cross inside a circle, which, in turn, is framed along the rim by the prayer to the Holy Princess Olga in Church Slavonic.
